Exxon - Combustion
A video made as part of a curriculum on combustion for children in their first few years of high school. This video was a challenge in combining engaging graphics for a younger audience with information that is specific enough to be tested within a curriculum. A common enough problem in educational animation, but one that never has a solid solution. This creative route came from several very intense brainstorming meeting that had us thinking of some incredibly far out (and cool!) ideas that all turned out to be very unsuitable. In the end went with the KISS technique, Keep It Simple, Stupid!
Retrospectively this was by far the best decision. I mourn some of the ideas that were left on the cutting room floor but the very talented Sami Duong (young designer of the year 2022!) gave us a graphics package tailor made to the intended demographic and was a treat to animate.
